The 8th graders will be working on a project in computer class that they will present at the end of this school year.
The 8th graders will be putting together a slide show of their life. They will need 6 or more photos of themselves from birth to now. Make sure there is a baby picture included for that picture will also be used on the bulletin board at the end of school.
All photos sent in will be scanned into the computer then returned to you as soon as possible. Please put photos in an envelope with your child's first and last name on it. If you want to drop them off with BJ in the office, I can then scan and return to you the same way (please list a phone number for me to contact you). I know how valuable family photos are. If anyone has digital photos they would like to send, please send as an attachment by email to:
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
and again put your child's first and last name in the email to me.
If you have any questions, please call me at 674-5400.
Thank you very much,
Cathleen Karaffa, Computer Teacher

Thanks to the Hicks-Nichols Grant the computer lab has been awarded four Flip Video Cameras.
A Flip Video Camera is a small pocket size video camera for video recording, editing, and uploading to a computer. This equipment will be used for innovative projects in the classroom and will provide a new educational opportunity to diverse learners. Thanks again!

Two of our Weathersfield students, Madeleine and Emily, will be using the flip cameras for a project with Mount Ascutney Prevention Partnership (MAPP). The project is titled, "On my way to school..." It is geared around their observations of the Weathersfield community. They will be presenting their project to Windsor Area Community Partnership (WACP). Good luck girls! (Check back soon for photos of their project!)

Madeleine and Emily created a very professional PowerPoint presentation and did an excellent job presenting! |

On Monday, November 9th, 2009, 5th graders Brandon and Matthew, and 3rd graders Nick and Skylar presented the SMART Board at the School Board Meeting. They demonstrated many of its features. The students even got the school board members up to interact and manipulate the SMART Board.
The students did a terrific job showing their newly developed skills. |
